Foliage: Glossy dark green, 1”, not prickly  
Hardiness: Zone 2-6 (All of Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska).
Growth Rate: Fast-medium  
Common Ailments: Usually found in good health    
Seed: Large 4-6” cones, brown, pendulous. Seed source is Upper Michigan.
Preferred Soil: ph 5-6, acid, well-drained but moist     
Attributes: Fast growing and very hardy. It sometimes will develop large secondary branch leaders that curve gracefully upward. The free hanging abundant branchlets, commonly seen in mature trees, will also invites curious onlookers.
