Spread: 20-40’ (broadly irregular) 
Hardiness: 3b-7 (Central and south Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska).
Foliage: Bluish green, usually 2” in length  
Growth Rate: Medium-slow
Preferred Soil: ph 5-6.5, well-drained sites only 
Common Ailments: Occasional winter burn, fungal branch wilt 
Seed: Small singular cones. Seed source is Gevaudan, France.
Attributes: Displays an orange colored bark on younger branches that turn reddish brown and scaly with age. Large limbs usually support the upper canopy while lower portions of the tree become open.
