Foliage: scaly, steel-blue color in summer, dull purple in winter. Numerous long branches converge to give it a mat like appearance.
Preferred Soil: ph 6-8, very tolerant. Can tolerate clay or sand, dry rocky ledges, or partial swamps.
Common Ailments: Juniper blight occasionally because of its thick mat habit.
Attributes: Forms a very dense bluish ground cover that is often seen draped over retaining walls or steep embankments.
